Indonesian - Where Can Indonesian Take you?

Indonesian students have been working hard learning new vocabulary and sentence structures within their new units for this term. Year 8 are currently studying 'Sekolah Saya' (My School). Year 9 are working well on Berlibur ke Indonesia (Holidaying in Indonesia) and Year 10 are becoming more skilled in Sopan Santun (Customs & Etiquette). All students will benefit from regular revision at home.
Last term Year 9 & 10 students were given the opportunity to attend a day at the University of Sydney titled "Where Can Indonesian Take You?". This was a fantastic day for all involved and certainly highlighted the benefits of future Indonesian studies in terms of future employment opportunities in a huge variety of fields. Students were also given the opportunity to participate in an Indonesian Dance class and eat a yummy Indonesian lunch.
This term all classes will also benefit from a native speaking Indonesian visitor who will attend a number of classes and speak about his life in Indonesia. The future of Indonesian studies at Vincentia High School is looking very bright as in 2013 we will offer a Stage 6 Indonesian Continuers class. I am very excited about the potential of this class and our aim is to travel to Indonesia as a group at the end of next year. Year 8 classes and Elective classes in Year 9 and 10 will also be conducted and many opportunities will be offered within these classes.
