Celebrating the success of our triathletes!

Vincentia High School had 33 teams of 3 and 32 individuals compete at the All Schools Triathlon in Penrith, and were the best-represented state school with the most participants! Our ideology to encourage as many students as possible in a challenging sport with an emphasis on effort and enjoyment certainly showed at this event.

Our Junior Mixed team of Mariah Vuockvic, Ryan Malfour and Jessica Alcott began the success with gold, followed by Bree Haig, Lachlan Woods and Joshua Murray taking bronze. Not to be outdone by the Intermediate Mixed team of Alix Luckman, Seth Kingma and Duncan Wilson also gaining a top-five result. This inspired our Senior Mixed team of Bronte Wright, Jeremy Head and Nellie Gray taking second in the government schools division. The results just kept flowing in with over fifteen of our teams gaining top ten positions in large fields in the government divisions. Every one of our team students physically pushed their boundaries in very warm conditions. It was a fabulous event!

All students competing in the individuals’ competition put in an amazing effort with some fantastic results! There were many top ten results and emerging talent. Congratulations to Bronte Wright (7th), Oliver Macken (8th), Nellie Gray( 10th), Jeremy Head (10th), and to Kioni Corton and Henry Gray, these fantastic results proved that consistent training through the winter months certainly paid off!

We would like to acknowledge and thank the staff and parents who supported our triathletes in the lead up to and during this fantastic sporting event. The mateship and pride that all students displayed on being part of the Vincentia High School team brought much emotion to every parent and teacher in the stand watching on.

Congratulations to all students who participated, it was your time to shine and Vincentia High is certainly proud of your achievements.
