LIBRARY

Introduction:

The Vincentia High School Library and Information Services Centre exists to:

* Provide resources to support the curriculum, student learning and reading for pleasure.

* Provide an alternative learning environment for classes where all students can access computers, find information, borrow and read books.

* Provide a place for all students to enjoy and use effectively before school (8am), recess and lunch.

General Information:

Location:  Upstairs A block above canteen

Students are issued with a Library Card when they enrol at the school and are expected to care for the card and have it with them at all times. Students may borrow resources using their Library Card and are expected to abide by the guidelines for borrowing and returning books and resources. (Replacement cards are $5). This card can be used by students as photo ID. The Library card can also be used to tap and print.

A printer is available for student use in the Library.

Individual students may use the library during class time if space is available, and they have an Out of Class note from their teacher.

Student Library accounts and the Library catalogue can be accessed from home and school through the Oliver Library system.

The Library homepage has many useful links and information for students.

Staff can book Library spaces, including the 3 small seminar rooms for smaller groups, online classes, meetings and video conferencing.

At all times students are expected to be considerate of others using the Library so that all might benefit from using the resources.

Refurbishment

The Library was refurbished in January 2019 with funding assistance from the P&C. This included new carpet, new furniture, new shelving, new laptops, smart board, painting and air-conditioning.
