When posting to a new location, Defence students may be entitled to educational assistance in the form of tutoring.

Education Liaison Officer
The EDLO is a qualified teacher who assists Defence families with matters relating to education. They provide information, advice, referral and specialised assistance to ADF members and their families. The EDLO for New South Wales is Ellen Blyth.
