News from our farm

Students selling vegetables

The farm is always a hive of activity! It is a demonstration farm where students learn; animal husbandry, livestock control, agriculture practices, marketing and how to grow fruit and vegetables. We have chickens, ducks, sheep, calves, goats, alpacas and occasionally we get some pigs!

Teachers Mr Lamond, Mr Burggraaff and Ms Mack (with the ongoing support from our Farm Assistant, Max) have been working with their agriculture classes to package the fresh produce to sell to staff, with the intent to sell to the public through the local produce markets.

Agriculture is offered as a taster to Years 7 & 8 students as part of their Science lesson, Years 9 & 10 can choose Agriculture as an elective and Years 11 & 12 can choose Primary Industries or Agriculture as a subject for their HSC.

In 2019, we are hoping to complete the final stages of our renovation and upgrade with the installation of new animal shelters and rotational paddocks to further support our Agricultural programs.
