Distributed Instructional Leadership

Team photo

The Distributed Instructional Leadership program is an initiative at Vincentia High School where a team of staff are working together to recognise, nurture and share the expertise of teaching staff to support all staff as leaders of learning in their classroom. The team will work across classrooms to support teacher practice and student learning. The team is comprised of staff across a range of areas with a genuine passion for leading learning, supporting colleagues and ensuring every student is engaged, inspired and enriched by their classroom experience.

In 2020, we have introduced a new role to our school executive with the Deputy Principal – Instructional Leader working across our school with a focus on rigorous teacher professional learning and an emphasis on teacher practice. Miss Renee Gilbert was successful by EOI to this position. Miss Gilbert has recently returned to our school after 12 months away as Teacher Quality Advisor and Learning, Teaching and Leading coordinator at the Warilla Education Office. She is glad to be back working with staff, students and our community in this exciting new role. The Distributed Instructional Leadership team is comprised of the following staff: Steve Crossman, Lisa Raftery, Toni Smith, John Powter, Jess Holloway Fry, Mandy Choat, Jaz Corr, Carrie Mac, Mark Swanson, Eren Salahi and Kris Rodwell.

The team met during the last week of 2019 for a full day of professional learning to develop their vision and plan for 2020, they are excited to see their plan in action next year.
