Celebrating Aboriginal Education with 6 new SBATs!

5 students

On Friday 4 December 2020 we celebrated Aboriginal Education and our partnership with Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council (WBACC) and Boorderee National Park. Six students were signed up for School Based Apprentice & Traineeships (SBAT) with either WBACC or Boorderee National Park. Each student will undertake a nationally recognized qualification and participate in paid employment whilst gaining their Higher School Certificate.

We value the strong partnership that we have had with WBACC and Booderee for many years and would like to mention a special thank you to George Brown, Sharon Brown and Kristy Brown from Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council and Kaylene McLeod from Booderee National Park for their continued support and help with this fantastic opportunity for our students.

Congratulations to the following students for being offered these positions:

Jade Barrington - Cert II in Business Services at the Admin section of Wreck Bay Council.

Mirina Simms - Cert II Conservation and Land Management at Wreck Bay Council, Caring for Country Team.

Steven Brown - Cert II Conservation and Land Management at Wreck Bay Council, Caring for Country Team.

Creed Dann - Cert II Conservation and Land Management at Wreck Bay Council, Cultural Heritage Management Team. (Absent for the presentation)

Michael Weeks - Cert II Conservation and Land Management at Booderee National Park, Natural Resources Management team.

We also celebrated the achievements of two current Aboriginal students, Dakota Ardler – Cert III Early Education & Care and Hayden Brown - Cert II Civil Construction, who are in the final stages of completing their SBAT with WBACC.
