The Vincentia High Wakakirri team delivered an outstanding performance as the closing act at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre in the Regional Wakakirri Challenge on Wednesday 29 August 2018. Our performers put their heart and soul into every second of the dance. ‘Invisible' was the story of homelessness in the Shoalhaven area. ‘Invisible' portrays a story of a young man who loses his job and experiences a series of significant loss. Homelessness does not discriminate. The Vincentia High Wakakirri team aimed to raise awareness of this developing issue and how our community can help.
They received a glowing report from the judges on the night and awards for: Best Lighting and Call, Best Public Speaking and the very prestigious Spirit of Wakakirri which is awarded for best all over team work, attitude and showing the true spirit of Wakakirri- inclusion.
On Monday 3 September 2018, Vincentia High was named ‘Story of the Year' from the Regional Challenge and are now through to the National level! This will be played out via Waka TV with the National winner being announced on 17 October 2018.
Our Team also picked up performance awards for:
