Dear all
I want to thank all of our school leaders, staff and parents who demonstrated great commitment and care to our students over the last 24 hours to ensure student and staff safety remain our priority.
At this point in time, our school will be open tomorrow. We will continue to be vigilant in monitoring the situation by working with Department of Education staff and the NSW RFS overnight.
We will advise you of any change through Facebook and our school website. I urge you to regularly refer to our Department's website which will be regularly updated with schools that are closed.
If you have any concerns about how to maintain your safety in the event of a fire, please review the suggestions below with your family and friends.
How you can stay safe in a fire prone area:
- Install the Fires Near Me NSW app and set a local 'watch area' or check the NSW RFS website, on your phone to find out what's happening in your area call RFS on 1800 679 737
- Monitor local media - Listen to your local ABC radio station for 24 hour emergency updates or download the ABC Listen app and select your local station
- Make a plan for your household and pets including where to meet, in case you are not able to get in touch. The NSW RFS has a map of neighbourhood safer places you can use to plan
- If you need to evacuate your home consider bringing important items and medication with you
- Evaluate where the safest place to work will be. If you choose to work from home rather than travel, please make sure you're safe and keep up to date on changes to conditions.
