Dhaawarri Dancers perform at memorial service

On Sunday 4th April the Dhaawarri Dancers participated in the memorial service for well known community member Sally Holland who was tragically killed on Collingwood Beach by a pack of dogs one year ago. The Welcome to Country was delivered by Dhaawarri Dance Co-ordinator Bri McLeod—Cosgrove. She spoke eloquently as she welcomed all the visitors to the beach and introduced each dance that the students performed. 

The students conducted themselves with respect and relished the opportunity to dance on the white sands of Jervis Bay.  It was an honour to be asked to be a part of the ceremony as Sally Holland was such a selfless member of the community who always put others before herself. A special thank you must be made to Gloria Holland who invited the dancers to be involved.
