The following information was emailed home today.

Dear Parents/Carers

The end of Term 3 has been a busy one for our school and others throughout the state. We’re happy to say that together we made it through what has been a constantly-changing and sometimes difficult Term. We could not have done it without the commitment from all of our families who supported learning from home, and from our fantastic teaching and school staff. I want to thank you all for your efforts to continue to keep our school community safe – I know everyone has faced different challenges at different times through the Term.

I hope everyone enjoys a break over the holidays and is looking forward to the COVID-safe return to school sites that we are planning for in Term 4. Please read through the following updates before the start of the school holidays and don’t hesitate to reach out for support or with any questions.

Return to school roadmap for Term 4

Schools in LGAs that are no longer operating under stay-at-home rules will move to Level 3 operations and a full return of all students with reduced mingling and on-site activities. Masks will be required on site for all staff and students Year 7 and above, indoors and outdoors.

In Term 4, where stay-at-home rules are still in place but high community vaccination and low transmission conditions are met, students will return to school in a staggered approach for prioritised year groups, with no mingling or on-site activities.

Years 7-11

From next term we will resume our usual school timetable. This will allow our students to familiarise themselves with their school timetable before returning. If your child doesn’t have a printed copy or is having difficulty locating their timetable on the student portal, please let us know 4441 6766.

We are currently on Level 4 Stay-at-home rules and learning from home. We anticipate that we will move to Level 3 Plus next term from Week 5 on Monday 1 November, with some  students returning to learning on campus. This staggered start will begin with Year 11 students. This date will be dependent on community vaccination rates. We will advise if there is any change to this date.

Below is the timeline with dates for the return for different year groups.

Stay-at-home continues for the first four weeks. Monday 4 October is a public holiday. Students first day for “Stay-at-home” is Tuesday 5 October (Week 1) – Friday 29 October (Week 4). Paper packages for week 1 will be ready for pick up on Tuesday for students unable to access online learning. Completed packs from the previous week can be returned at this time.

Important dates for returning to school campus:

Monday 1 November (Week 5) - Year 11 (Year 12 in Term 4)

Assessment Task Schedule will be posted on Year 11 Google homeroom

Monday 8 November (Week 6) - Years 7, 8, 9 & 10 return

Support Classes - Students in support classes should return in line with their year group and according to the needs of each student.

Year 12 – HSC students

Tuesday 5 October to Friday 22 October - (Wks 1-3)

We will be offering a number of revision/wellbeing lessons to Year 12 students when teachers are available. Details about these lessons will be published through the Year 12 Google Homeroom the week before.

Monday 25 October onwards (Week 4) - Year 12 students will have full-time access to school campuses and teachers.

Friday 29 October (Week 4) - Planned Graduation with Year 12 students

Tuesday 9 November (Week 5) - HSC examinations begin. These will be on site following COVID guidelines.

We will be providing further advice as we develop our plan for a staged return.

The return to school roadmap is subject to change depending on new information provided through Public Health Orders and additional advice from NSW Health. You can stay up to date with the most recent advice on our Advice for families page.

Thank you again for your understanding and support. We hope you and your family enjoy a safe and very well-deserved break over the holidays. Please take some time over the break to check out our wellbeing resources for students and families. You’ll find useful tools for mental health and Term 4 preparation. Please do not hesitate to reach out if we can do anything to help you and your children to prepare for Term 4 or if you have any concerns about the return to school. I will be in touch again soon with further information and any updates for you and your children.

Yours Sincerely

Mrs Ruth Winfield
